Playing catch up!

Sorry, I've been a bit slack on the blogging front due to the overwhelming amounts of work I've been trying to complete for my forthcoming exhibitions! Please enjoy some of April's delights. (well, the end of March and then April!)

A lovely commission

You may remember that I showed an exhibition at Hanger Farm Arts Centre back in February. It was a very successful show with lots of attendees and one of the loveliest things to come out of it was a commission. A couple from Southampton asked me to create a custom kOodle from one of their youngest son's first babygros. So here is Einstein, as he has been christened, to go with Newton, their eldest son's toy of a similar origin.

Happier times!

I'm finding it easier to fill my pages now. The lovely weather must have had something to do with it, I'm having to hold myself back from filling too many pages at a time now! Here are some more of my March doodles.

Don't forget to check out the newly updated West Berkshire Open Studios site for some fabulous exhibitions throughout May!

It's almost that time of year again!

West Berkshire Open Studios is looming and I've been very busy doing lots of work, none of which is for this year's exhibition! There will be at least five of us exhibiting at the Old Chapel Textile Centre throughout May this year, making it an exciting hub of creativity for all things fabric and thread related.
We have now christened our group "Gathering Threads" and the exhibition this year is called "Extravaganza." It will encompass a wider range of textile arts and crafts and feature demonstrations and workshops. Click here for more information on the exhibition or here for my very own page in the directory.

Difficult times

The last couple of weeks have been challenging. I have struggled to find time to draw in my book, and when I have had time, the inspiration just hasn't been flowing! On top of that, I was unable to accomplish one of my other new year's resolutions when I injured my ankle and couldn't run in the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 20th March. Disappointed as I was, it has only made me more determined to run in one later in the year, and really, things could be a lot worse. So here's a bumper delivery of my mid-March-musings.

First days of March

Finally it feels like Spring is here! The spiders and ladybirds are slowly emerging from their crevices and the clouds have briefly parted for a spell of lovely springy weather. Forgive me for being a little behind with my drawings, I can assure you I am keeping up, just not the blogging part! So here's the first week of March for you all. Thank you.

I'm still going!

Albeit a little slowly. My daily drawing routine is more of a peaks and troughs thing, some days I'll do none, some days I'll do three, but all averaging one per day. Here are some more February delights...
